Romance with nature is at best in Sri Lanka as it has not only pristine beaches but wildlife also enhances the beauty of the nation. There is Wilpattu National Park that would lure you with its wildlife and natural lakes, too. The beauty of the nation is not just congregated in one area but the whole nation is full of natural wonders. Kandy will attract you with its view of mist romancing the hills while Jaffna would serve you with its palate of coastlines.

Itinerary

Upon arrival in Colombo, you will be transferred to Kandy. Visit the Peradeniya Botanic Gardens. The many highlights include a fine collection of orchids and a stately avenue of royal palms. Another big hit is the giant Javan fig tree on the great lawn. Just north of the lake, the golden-roofed Temple of the Sacred Tooth houses Sri Lanka’s most important Buddhist relic – a tooth of the Buddha. During puja (offerings or prayers), the heavily guarded room housing the tooth is open to devotees and tourists. However, you don’t actually see the tooth. It’s kept in a gold casket shaped like a dagoba (stupa), which contains a series of six dagoba caskets of diminishing size. Later enjoy a cultural show in Kandy. The spectators are held spellbound by the colourful acts of the show. Sri Lankan drummers exhibit their skills, and divers forms of dance can be witnessed, all executed with skill and enthusiasm.

After breakfast, check out and proceed to Nuwara Eliya. During the city tour in Nuwara Eliya you will visit the main attractions of the town which include the golf course, trout streams, Victoria Park, and boating or fishing on Lake Gregory. Visit a working tea factory where the slow-growing tea bushes of this highland region produce some of the world’s finest Orange Pekoe tea. Visit St. Claire’s waterfall and Haggala Gardens. Haggala is a temperate hill-country garden where languid low-country lotus and water lily float in their serene loveliness.

After breakfast, check out and proceed to Bentota. You will be doing a boat safari on Madi River, a paradise of nature. This river is found on your way to Galle in the southern province.

After breakfast, check out and proceed to Colombo. Arrive in Colombo and check in to the hotel. While on your city tour in Colombo you will visit Galle Face Green, the Viharamahadevi Park, National Museum, Twin World Trade Center towers, Old Parliament Building, Fort district, Independence Hall at Independence Square, and prominent Buddhist, Hindu, Islam and Christian places of worship.
