DETAILED TOUR PROGRAM
Day 1: Arrival in Tbilisi
Arrival to Tbilisi International airport. Transfer to the hotel.
Day 2: Tbilisi city Tour – Jvari – Mtskheta – Tbilisi
Breakfast. Tbilisi sightseeing: After breakfast, we will embark on Tbilisi sightseeing tour. Start at Metekhi Сhurch and the monument to Vakhtang Gorgasali, the legendary founder of Tbilisi. Visit Narikala Fortress to enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the city. Walk down to the district of sulphur bath houses and pass by the only mosque in Tbilisi. Stroll through the Sharden area, full of narrow streets with cozy cafés, wine tasting bars, and souvenir shops, and breathe in the history of Old Tbilisi. Also visit Sioni Cathedral, Anchiskhati Basilica, and the famous Rezo Gabriadze Theatre’s clock tower, before crossing the Bridge of Peace to Rike Park. Our next stop will be at Jvari Church which stands atop a rocky cliff, looking down upon Mtskheta like a stoic guardian. Enjoy the views of the confluence of the Aragvi and Mtkvari Rivers. Our next stop is Mtskheta. In ancient times, it was the capital of Georgia, and now it is a cozy town with a renovated European-style center. Here you can buy delicious churchkhela and other traditional sweets. Visit Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, one of the most venerated churches in the country which is known as the burial site of Christ’s robe. Today Svetitskhoveli Cathedral is the second largest church in Georgia and its principal house of worship
Overnight at the Tbilisi hotel.
Day 3: Tbilisi – Ananuri Fortress – Jinvali Reservation – Kazbegi – Gudauri – Tbilisi
Breakfast. On the way visiting Ananuri Fortress, a former residence of Argveti Dukes, which features churches and towers dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries and beautifully overlooks Jinvali Reservoir. Stop to Friendship monument in Gudauri for photo shooting. Continue the way to Kazbegi. 4×4 vehicle trip to Gergeti Trinity church (located at an altitude of 2,170 m) to enjoy the amazing views of Mount Kazbeg.
Drive back to Tbilisi for overnight.
Day 4: Tbilisi – Borjomi – Kutaisi
Breakfast. Visiting Borjomi is a resort town in south-central Georgia, 160 km from Tbilisi. The town is noted for: Its mineral water industry. On this tour, you will visit Borjomi’s mineral water park, dating back to 1850. It occupies a narrow wooded valley and includes the town’s original mineral water source, Ekaterina Spring, straight ahead from the entrance to the park.
Sightseeing in Kutaisi. Visiting Bagrati Temple – is an important monument of Georgian culture, both in terms of architectural solution and symbolic significance. Visiting The Gelati monastery, one of the largest medieval Orthodox monasteries, was also a center of science and education and the Academy it housed was one of the most important centuries of culture in ancient Georgia. Continue to Motsameta monastery to enjoy fantastic views over the Rioni river gorge.
Day 5: Kutaisi – Prometheus Cave – Batumi
Breakfast. In the morning, drive to the Prometheus Cave, where you will walk in 1.5 km long tunnel and enjoy breath-taking views of stalactites, stalagmites, petrified waterfalls, underground rivers and lakes along the cave. The underground light system is filled with LED lights of all colors of the rainbow, marvelously highlighting the natural beauty of the Prometheus Cave. Drive to the direction of Batumi. Batumi sightseeing including: moving statue Ali and Nino, Alphabet tower, The Drama Theatre, Old Batumi and Boulevard.
Overnight at the Batumi hotel.
Day 6: Batumi – Gonio – Shekvetili – Tbilisi
Breakfast. Visiting Gonio one of the popular Black Sea resorts in Georgia. According to local legend, the workers who built the fortress used to pass stones from hand to hand along a human corridor from Kvariati to Gonio. In the fortress, you can see layers of enormous rocks that are almost one meter thick. A rectangular construction 44,460 square meters in area, Gonio fortress is is surrounded by a fence welded with lime, fortified with 18 towers. Located in Georgia’s western Ozurgeti municipality, Shekvetili Dendrological Park with over 200 giant trees of unique species, 58 species of birds from all continents and bamboo grove is ready to receive visitors. Shekvetili Dendrological Park is spread over 60 hectares and units thousands of species of local and foreign exotic flora. Transfer to Tbilisi and foreign exotic flora. Transfer to Tbilisi.
Day 7: Departure
Check-out from the hotel. Transfer to Tbilisi International Airport. End of the tour.
