Malpe Beach is a major attraction of the town, located at a distance of 6 km from Udupi. The beach lies towards the west of Udupi at the mouth of Malpe or Udyavara River. Tourists visiting the beach can indulge in recreational activities like bathing, boating and fishing. One of the major highlights of the beach is the fishing harbour comprising ferryboats.
