Details
The name Halli Berri came about over a cup of coffee. ‘Halli’ in the local Kannada language means village and also comes from Kambihalli, the name of the village and coffee estate where the coffee ‘berry’ is grown. In essence, Halli Berri means village berry – full of heart and soul.
Kambihalli Estate
Kambihalli Estate has been growing coffee in the Bababudan mountains since 1948 and is now a 4th generation all woman owned concern. The age old practices of growing coffee in a sustainable way are still followed today with improvements that have further reduced our impact on the environment.
In an effort to enhance and maintain the ecological balance of the area, our coffee is grown under the shade of various jungle trees in harmony with its natural surroundings. The iron rich soil, high altitude and low temperature allows the coffee bean to mature slowly, incorporating subtle flavours and thus giving it a clean fresh taste.
We are proud to say that our coffee is Rain Forest Alliance Certified. We strive to offer you the ultimate coffee experience by combining our family tradition of producing coffee in a sustainable way and minimizing our impact on the environment.
Come visit us, stay with us and try our coffee. We promise you won’t be disappointed.
