Nestling in the Sheveroy Hills is Yercaud. Traditionally a coffee growing region, it stands roughly 6000 feet high and is known for its coffee, spices, silver oak and sandal wood estates.

The weather is pleasant all year round with January temperatures hovering between 10 to 15 °C. It does have a traditional monsoon too.

All in all the weather is ideal for outdoor activities and getting close to nature.

GETTING TO GLENROCK:

Getting to Yercaud itself is part of the fun. You have to get to Salem Junction if you’re coming by train. Salem is connected by train to most metros in India. Or you could come by luxury buses from Bangalore. KPN Bus Services are probably the most reliable among these. They’re comfortable, frequent and inexpensive. And you can book your tickets online! You have a choice between air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned buses. If you decide to fly, you can get into Bangalore, Chennai or Coimbatore and choose to take a bus or train to Salem town.

The journey from Salem to Yercaud is a scenic climb with multiple hair-pin bends and breath-taking views of the plains below as you climb. You can take a taxi from Salem. On reaching Yercaud, at the lake ask for directions to Pagoda Point. At Pagoda Point ask for Dorai’s Estate.

Dormitories:

For larger groups who are happy to bunk together we have the spacey dormitories done in typical coffee estate style with granite walls and tiled roofs. They come with attached common bathing rooms and toilets.
