DETAILED TOUR PROGRAM
Day 1: Arrival in Tbilisi
Arrival to Tbilisi International airport. Transfer to the hotel.
Day 2: Tbilisi-Jvari-Mtskheta-Kazbegi-Gudauri-Tbilisi
Breakfast. The first stop will be at Jvari Church which stands atop a rocky cliff, looking down upon Mtskheta like a stoic guardian. Enjoy the views of the confluence of the Aragvi and Mtkvari Rivers. Our next stop is Mtskheta. In ancient times, it was the capital of Georgia, and now it is a cozy town with a renovated European-style center. Here you can buy delicious churchkhela and other traditional sweets. Visit Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, one of the most venerated churches in the country which is known as the burial site of Christ’s robe. Today Svetitskhoveli Cathedral is the second largest church in Georgia and its principal house of worship.
Stop to Friendship monument in Gudauri for photo shooting. Continue the way to Kazbegi. 4×4 vehicle trip to Gergeti Trinity church (located at an altitude of 2,170 m) to enjoy the amazing views of Mount Kazbeg.
Drive to Tbilisi for overnight.
Day 3: Tbilisi-Martvili canyon-Kutaisi
Breakfast. Visit Okatse Canyon, a natural monument of Georgia with scenic views. The Okatse Canyon has already attracted and amazed large number of tourists with its magnificent wild nature, astonishing waterfalls and breathtaking views. Located in the Western Georgia, near the village of Gordi, the canyon runs roughly for 14 kilometers, width ranges from 3-6 to 15-20 meters, while its depth is between 20-100 meters. A visitor’s centre is located along with a hanging path 250 m in length, as well as a 500 m path through the canyon and forest, a walking path of 2 km and an observation spot with panoramic views of the entire valley.
Drive to Martvili canyon. Every region in Georgia boasts its own famous natural landmarks, and Samegrelo is no different, as it is home to the stunningly beautiful Martvili Canyon. There are two sections of the canyon to visit. To the left of the entrance a walkway and viewing platforms lead you a few hundred meters along the top of the canyon, looking down over multiple waterfalls and into the impressively blue-green water. Even in winter, the sculpted canyon walls are thick with green moss and ferns, a lush little paradise with arched bridges offering the perfect vantage point. To the right, you can paddle your way through a scenic section of canyon in an inflatable boat, getting up close to a small waterfall and peeking into dark cracks and crevices. Drive back to Kutaisi.
Day 4: Kutaisi – Prometheus Cave – Batumi
Breakfast. In the morning, drive to the Prometheus Cave, where you will walk in 1.5 km long tunnel and enjoy breath-taking views of stalactites, stalagmites, petrified waterfalls, underground rivers and lakes along the cave. The underground light system is filled with LED lights of all colors of the rainbow, marvelously highlighting the natural beauty of the Prometheus Cave. Drive to the direction of Batumi. Batumi sightseeing including: moving statue Ali and Nino, Alphabet tower, The Drama Theatre, Old Batumi and Boulevard.
Overnight at the Batumi hotel.
Day 5: Botanical garden Batumi-Tbilisi
Breakfast. Visiting Batumi Botanical Garden- One of the largest and richest botanical gardens in the world, it is situated on 111 hectares and was set up in 1912. The garden includes the Colchis Forest Reserve and many different floristic landscapes. There are many species and varieties of plants in the garden.
The botanical garden is the best place for nature lovers. There is no similar botanical garden in the world in the sense that the species of plants derived from completely different climatic and landscape zones coexist in Batumi Botanical Garden. In this magical garden, both the palm of the Canary Finch and the Japanese Sakura are equally flourished. Transfer to Tbilisi
Overnight at the Tbilisi hotel.
Day 6: Departure
Breakfast. Transfer to Tbilisi International Airport. End of the tour.
